Frequently Asked Questions
What is the difference between quartz and quartzite?
Quartz slabs are manufactured using quartz particulate blended with resins and pigments to create unique designs and colors – Quartzite is natural stone quarried in Brazil with all the variation in color and pattern only natural stone will provide.
Is quartz less expensive than natural stone?
All of the material categories come in a wide range of prices from inexpensive to exotic, so no specific category is more or less expensive.
What materials does Classic Design offer?
We offer all categories of countertop materials – both manufactured and natural, so if it’s a material available we have you covered!
Does Natural Stone Stain?
Properly sealed, natural stone will not stain in normal use. Classic Design will apply a silicone sealer to your natural stone that penetrates into the pores of the stone and seals and protects against staining. Acids may “etch” (leave dull spots) on the surface of natural stone, so avoid using acidic cleaners or leaving spills on countertops.
How long will it take to get my countertops?
Manufacture and installation lead times vary depending on size and complexity of the project. Your salesperson will guide you through the process of preparation through installation and will update you as your job progresses.
What warranty does Classic Design offer?
There are 2 components to warranty. The first warranty is a manufacturer warranty on the material itself that varies among manufacturers. The second is our commitment to our workmanship in fabrication and installation. That warranty lasts as long as you own the countertops. Damage due to use is not covered by either warranty.
Where do you get your materials?
Classic Design works with all the suppliers of quartz and manufactured slabs. We also direct import natural stone that we stock and work with over 20 regional distributors to insure we always can get the product you want!
How do I maintain my countertops?
We recommend daily cleaning with a product formulated for natural stone.
